I know, I have been away for too long. I have some explanation on a later post. But for now, let’s concentrate on makeup by Tumblr’s favorite boy band!
I had the pleasure to receive the “Up All Night” party girl collection, which looks very 80s and pop-ish all around. Now, I am almost 23 years old and do not gravitate towards these colors anymore but I did find it fun to test.
The eyeshadow quad, which mesmerized me at first sight, was subpar in pigmentation, wear, and overall wear. It is buttery when you swatch it but I found it did not blend well, and the wear is horrible if you have oily lids like I do. I did not enjoy the glitter, it was a pain to apply :/
The lipgloss was nice at first, but it felt grainy due to the glitter, and it was neither drying nor hydrating. It lasted about three hours on me without eating or drinking. Again, very 80s feel.
The lipstick—I looked like a troll with it, as it did not complement my skin tone since it is such a cool pink. It exacerbated the dry patches on my lips, and overall was just uncomfortable to wear.
Probably my favorite item out of the collection was the eye pencil—so creamy, so smooth, a killer on brown eyes! With a good primer this can do the job of getting a super quick blue smokey eye.
The mascara was super uneventful.
I do not have swatches of the nail polish yet, but I will soon! Y’all know how bad I am at painting my nails…
Overall, I did not like this kit as much as probably a younger girl would. It would make a nice gift for a younger relative, but I am way too old for this.
